'Round the Mountain is excited to be working with the Franklin County Tourism Office, the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce, the Community Partnership for Revitalization, the Blue Ridge Institute, and local artisans and business owners on the creation of an Artisan Trail in Franklin County.
'Round the Mountain (RTM) is a non-profit organization that supports artisans, farmers and agri-tourism businesses in Southwest Virginia by providing educational, marketing and entrepreneurial opportunities. As one of its major initiatives, RTM is creating The Regional Artisan Trail Network throughout its 19-county 4-city service area. The Artisan Trail in Franklin County will be linked to other local artisan trails being developed in surrounding counties. The trails will be featured on RTM's website as an interactive map and trip planner, in community and regional brochures and state promotion, and highlighted at Heartwood, the new regional Artisan Gateway. 'Round the Mountain is a membership organization. Artisans, farmers, agri-tourism businesses, craft venues and organizations that sell, exhibit or promote locally-made craft and produce are eligible for membership. The Regional Artisan Trails may include other businesses, such as restaurants and lodging, that support visitors in the community.
