Town Offices will be closed on Monday, February 15, 2010 in observance of the Presidents' Day holiday.

Franklin Artisan Trail Community Meeting

Potluck at 6:00 p.m.

Meeting at 7:00 p.m.

 

Location: the Franklin Center

 

The Regional Artisan Trail Network is being developed across 19 counties of Southwest Virginia - including Franklin County.  The trails will link visitors to artisan studios, galleries, shops and country stores, farms and agritourism sites, and unique lodging and restaurants.  The Artisan Trails are a major project of 'Round the Mountain.

 

Each community creates a hard-copy Artisan Trail brochure and Franklin County will begin work on their brochure in early 2010.

 

 

The Franklin meeting will provide: 

• General information about the trails for those who missed prior meetings
• Update on trail timeline/plans in Franklin
• Trail sites dotting county map w/their location to view beginnings of trail
• Brainstorming on name for Franklin County's Artisan Trail
• An opportunity for folks to network and share a meal
• An initial discussion of trail kick off event & of Franklin's Artisan Trail Brochure
