4th of July Music Festival

On Friday, July 4th, the Rotary Club of Smith Mountain Lake will present its 2nd annual 4th of July Music Festival to be held at Bernard's Landing on beautiful Smith Mountain Lake.

The festival benefits several local organizations on the SML community.  Food and drink will be sold by Helping Hands of Rocky Mount, the Boy Scouts of America, and the Pigg River Baptist Association.

Profits from admissions and beverage sales go to the SML Rotary Club's Foundation for community projects and scholarship fund. 

The featured band will be "The Embers" playing their legendary beach music.  "Fescue," one of Southwest Virginia's best bluegrass bands, will also perform.

The festival will run from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

There will also be a booth for attendees to fill out 4th of July postcards.  These postcards will be sent to our troops serving overseas, thanking them for their service.

Tickets are $15 at the gate or $12 if purchased in advance until July 2.  Advance tickets may be purchased at the SML Chamber of Commerce, Hagar Insurance, Hot Shots Golf and Radio Shack at Westlake Corner.

Attendees should bring their own lawn chairs and/or blankets.
