(The GIS Technician/Code Inspector is responsible for locating the field and marking various infrastructure using global positioning satellite (GPS) hand-held units. The GPS unit designates plane coordinates to be downloaded into the base map and the information can be made available in many layers depending upon the need).

(The Public Works Department is responsible for maintaining streets, traffic signals and signs, water distribution, wastewater collection, meter reading, sidewalks, storm water management, building and grounds maintenance, cemetery and parks grounds keeping, public right-of-way maintenance, street cleaning and refuse collection. This department provides all maintenance services within the current corporate limits, as well as responsibility for utility lines throughout the service area).
(The Rocky Mount Public Works Department is responsible for maintaining the water distribution system and storage tanks to our customers. The Town currently has approximately 2,700 connections, including residential, commercial, institutional and industrial users.)
