Community Development Assistant (Full Time)
Want to be an important part of how the Town of Rocky Mount grows? The Community Development Department needs an enthusiastic administrative assistant to handle complex administrative and organization work while providing outstanding customer service. The person who earns this position should expect to leave work every day happy that their work creates positive results for the Town and its residents. Applicants must have thorough knowledge of and experience in using Microsoft Office products. The applicant must be able to handle very frequent customer contact in person, via phone and by email. Reports to the Assistant Town Manager. Associate's degree or higher preferred, but combinations of education and experience considered. Starting annual pay range: $30,647-$34,675, depending on experience and qualifications. Excellent benefits, including insurance, paid vacation, sick leave and holidays, and state retirement.
Receptionist (Part Time)
The Rocky Mount Town Manager's Office seeks a part-time receptionist to work an average of 25-28 hours per week in a busy local government office. This person serves as the first point of contact for public visitors to the municipal building, answering phone calls and customer questions while providing clerical support to both the Town Manager's Office and Community Development. Helps provide office coverage and support when other employees are out, so must be flexible in work schedule. Reports to the Town Manager. Associate's degree or higher preferred, but combinations of education and
experience will be considered. Pay rate: $14.73 per hour; no benefits.
Selected finalists must successfully pass a drug screening and pre-employment physical. Requires residency in Rocky Mount or Franklin County within 12 months of employment. No phone calls, please.
