Chamber to Host Festival of Trees Contest
Trees must follow specific guidelines to be eligible for the contest. In keeping with the "White Lights Campaign," another component to this program, the Chamber asks that all lights be continuous burning and clear or white. The use of garland and ornaments will be left entirely up to the business or organization decorating the tree.Merchants, Business Owners, or Organizations interested in the contest should send in the entry form no later than November 20th. Trees must be decorated and lit by Friday, November 28th in conjunction with the Community Christmas Tree Lighting and the kick off of the White Lights Campaign on the Franklin County Courthouse lawn at 5:30 p.m.
Trees will be given a number and the public is invited to vote for their favorite tree or trees. Voting is done by depositing $0.25 in the corresponding glass jar which will be delivered no later than November 25th. The tree with the glass jar containing the highest dollar amount will be declared the "People's Choice" Winner.
