Town Delays Property Tax and Auto Decal Due Dates
The Town of Rocky Mount property tax due date has been changed from February 28, 2009 to May 29, 2009. The Decal display due date has been changed from March 31, 2009 to May 29, 2009.
Tax bills have been mailed. If residents have not received tax tickets yet, they are encouraged to calla the Finance Department.
Real Estate Tax and Personal Property Tax must be paid on or before May 29, 2009 to avoid penalty and interest. Personal Property Tax must be paid in full to obtain the 2009 Auto Decal.
Vehicle decals are on sale in the Finance Department and must be displayed by May 29, 2009.
* Auto decals are $25.
* Motorcycle decals are $18.
* Trailer decals are $20 or $25
(depending on weight - the DMV registration
is required to qualify for the reduced rate.)
If the vehicle is not listed on the Town of Rocky Mount tax ticket, then the DMV registration is required and should show "Town of Rocky Mount as the garage destination.)
