Bridge Replacement Near Rocky Mount Closes Ramp from Northbound Route 220 onto Route 220 Business

On Tuesday, April 14, the exit ramp leading from northbound Route 220 onto northbound 220 Business in Franklin County will be closed.  This ramp is located just south of Rocky Mount in the Doe Run area.

The ramp will be closed until August while the bridge that carries Route 220 Business over Route 220 is replaced. 

A detour will be posted to direct traffic on northbound Route 220 to use the Route 40 exit to access Route 220 Business (South Main Street).

During the ramp closure, vehicles also will be prohibited from making left turns at the crossover from northbound Route 220 onto Southside Drive. 

Motorists can expect periodic lane closures on northbound and southbound Route 220 beneath the bridge.  Signs and message boards will be in place on Route 220 to advise motorists of these lane closures.
