Veterans' Memorial Parks Receives Creative Scenic Enhancement Award
This year's Scenic Virginia Creative Scenic Enhancement Honorable Mention award was awarded to the The Franklin County Veterans’ Memorial Park in Rocky Mount, a project instituted by the five Ruritan Clubs in Franklin County and supported by the Town of Rocky Mount and the Franklin County Veterans Memorial Commission that transformed a blemished, environmentally-challenged junkyard into a picturesque and tranquil reminder of the honor, courage and sacrifice of those who have preserved our freedoms.
Town Offices Close for Thanksgiving
All Town of Rocky Mount offices and departments will be closed on Thursday, November 27th and Friday, November 28th in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
Town staff wishes all Rocky Mount citizens a safe, healthy, and happy holiday!
Veterans' Day Service at the Veterans' Memorial Park
There will be a program on Veterans' Day, November 11, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Franklin County Veterans' Memorial Park, located at the corner of Scuffling Hill Road and South Main Street, to honor and recognize our veterans.
Chamber to Host Festival of Trees Contest
The Franklin County Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the Festival of Trees contest from November 28th until December 17th.
