Mary Elizabeth Park
Mary Elizabeth Park is Rocky Mount's most developed public park, and is centrally located, making it easily accessible by walking. The park, named in honor of the late Mary Elizabeth Angle, houses a large picnic shelter, two lighted tennis courts, a lighted roller rink, restroom facilities and playground equipment. The Town expects to add a permanent cornhole tournament space to the park by Fall 2015.
Parking is available on adjoining parcels through cooperative agreements at Rocky Mount United Methodist Church, Rocky Mount Christian Church and The Franklin Center.
Picnic shelter rentals are available daily from April 1 - October 15. Contact the Town offices at 540-483-0907 for rental reservations.
The park is bounded by South Main Street, Randolph Street and Claiborne Avenue.
Court lights are operational until 11 p.m.
